Carpool Safety - Turning onto 800 W from 700 S

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Though the main road 700 S and the perpendicular road 800 W are not our property we do feel it necessary to give some direction to help maintain safety for drivers and students. There has been major congestion on 700 due to people turning right into the wrong lane on 800 (the road leading up to the school).

800 has two lanes leading up to the school, we'll call them Lane 1 and Lane 2. If Lane 1 is followed, it would take you to the front curb of the school. Lane 2, if followed, would take you to the second curb away from the school.

Drivers on 700 going eastbound are to turn right into lane 1 and drivers going westbound are to turn left into lane 2. 

The congestion occurs when drivers going eastbound try to turn right into lane 2. Lane 2 needs to remain open for people turning left from 700. Eastbound drivers may merge into lane 2 after turning right into lane 1.
